E'mal grew up in and around the city of Gridania, cared for by a Sun Miqo'te couple serving as retainers.He was rescued as a very young child, maybe 5 winters old, by a group of conjurers and adopted shortly after by the Miqo couple.As he grew, so did his desire for exploration. After bouncing between cities, his path eventually lead to Ul'dah, where he began learning to weave magic into his dancing.Now he travels all over, making friends and companions as well as entertaining crowds with flamboyant dances and performances of magic and flowing fabric.

E'mal does not remember much of his early childhood-- before being found in the shroud. Most of what he remembers comes in bits and pieces in dreams or when he encounters specific scenarios. Tragically, most of those memories are negative things, all relating to the moment he was displaced.He often has a reoccurring dream. Well, nightmare. It's of his village being attacked by Garlean forces. He remembers fire and smoke, screaming and the sound of horrible mechanical monsters. He remebers his mother-- her face covered in ashes and blood. Her eyes are soft and filled with care as she speaks in a language he cannot recall. She pushes him towards the jungle, desperately trying to tell him something. Go somewhere....find something...no...someone? As enemies approach she all but shoves him in desperation and speaks one last phrase-- he knows it means something important but he just cannot understand. He begins running in the direction she pointed, trying to ignore the yelling and fighting around him. He never makes it beyond this point in his dreams as he wakes himself up in tears every time.He knows what happens after that point anyway. Those memories are still with him. He is caught in the jungle by a roaming squadron of Garlean soldiers.

Kicking, screaming, and biting, he almost meets his end at their hands before someone stops the soldier from ending the kit. They decide they like the fire in the young viera and take it with them to mold into another soldier for their cause.E'mal's time in the empire was hellish for him. He was kept in a cage like an animal and taunted and tormented by the guards constantly. One went as far as to blind him in one eye for not making eye contact.This particular guard wore a mask when bullying the kit. And to this day E'mal cannot see a mask that looks even somewhat similar without having a full panic attack.

The body and form of a dancer-- moving with grace and carrying himself in a spirited way. Lithe but not thin. Toned upper body from duelist training. On the shorter side, standing at 5'4". Lovely violet colored right eye and a blinded left eye. No scarring on his face but he has a tattoo on his forehead that often hides behind his hair. It has a meaning, he just doesn't know. No visible scarring on his body. He does have two scars across either side of his chest-- evidence of becoming comfortable in his physical self. Visible natural black hair after having dyed it for a period of time.

E'mal has several outfits he switches between, depending on how he's feeling on a particular day. Some are more suited for actual combat and defense while others are flashier and meant to draw the attention of a crowd.He likes shiny, intricate patterns, bright colors (typically Reds/Purples)
Semi-revealing or form fitting are preferred but not always worn, jewelry like earrings and necklaces, hair pieces/flowers

Lost and Found- E'mal was found in the shroud and raised by a miqo'te couple. He doesn't remember much of anything about his culture and is always eager to hear what things were/are like, should you be willing to share.Oddity- Relating to the point above, E'mal is quite....interesting in terms of mannerisms. Looks like a bunny, acts like a cat. He moves his ears more like a Miqo'te, makes a purr-adjacent humming sound when he's very happy, and tries to wiggle his tail like a Miqo'te. Maybe these things amuse you. Or maybe you're weirded out by it?Social Butterfly- Being in the career of entertainer, E'mal loves people. He has a natural charm and charisma to him that tends to draw people in. There's just something loveable about this little fruit. He is extremely approachable! Should you see an open seat at his table, know that it's always open for you!Flying Silk- Always one to give his all to a performance, E'mal has mastered the arts of Dancer and Red Mage in combo. He has learned to weave the magicks together to make shows surely able to capture the attention of passing crowds. But more than just street dancing, he is a capable fighter should he need to protect himself. Just....a little more flamboyantly than most.
